Semi Dull Yarn is manufactured using raw material that has been chemically and/or physically modified to reduce its typical luster, and widely used for apparels and home textiles production. Its main qualities are high tenacity, strength, and the ability to look similar to cotton fiber. Available in different deniers and filament sizes.

Partially Oriented Polyester (POY) yarns that feature low luster luster levels are used in making semi dull polyester textured yarns, commonly found in garment and apparel industries for weaving and embroidery work. These yarns are commonly referred to as Polyester Drawn Textured Yarn (DTY).

The present invention provides one method for producing polyethylene (PE) semi-dull drawn polyester fiber using composite spinning technology and master batch methods, specifically melt spinning assembly with melt spinning capability, while island component takes common half delustring or section large glossy polyester as main raw materials to be added as a full dull master batch for whole extinction polyester production.

In the present invention, dyeing performance of semi-dull polyester drawn yarns produced is improved by modifying them with main-chain silicated diol that increases free volume to facilitate penetration of dye, air or water into fiber. Furthermore, natural degradation can be hastened through fluorinated dicarboxylic acid import and doped Bi2O3 doping.

Mechanical performance indicators for polyester drawn polyester yarn produced from this manufacturing process include monofilament fineness between 0.7-3.0 deniertex, breaking strength >=3.5cN/dtex, elongation at break 32.0+-4.0%, interlacing degree 13+-2/m, linear density deviation rate =1.0%, breaking elongation CV value =5.0% and boiling water shrinkage rate between 6.5+-0.5%; additionally its intrinsic viscosity decreased 18-26% after storage at 25degC with RH of 65% for 60 months compared with its initial denier fineness levels.
